Keywords & HowTo Use Them to Make Big Money Online

keywords ebook

Discover here:

  • What keywords are
  • How they can make all the difference between your success and failure in making money online
  • How to get the right ones
  • How understanding them can help you make money in all areas of the internet – from your own website, to blogs, ebay, your own website, affiliate marketing, using adwords and adsense…
  • How the right keyword tools can make your life a whole lot easier and speed up your success (see banner above).

  • When I first started trying to make money on the internet I completely underestimated the huge importance of keywords. And this was in spite of the fact that I kept reading about how important they are! I was trying to cut corners so decided not to waste time (!) on really understanding about keywords. If you learn from my error and really study this section you will no doubt make money much faster and more easily than I did!

    So, what are keywords?

I’m going to assume you are new or fairly new to this and explain keywords very simply. If you liken the internet to a huge map, keywords are the sign posts that help you find whatever you are looking for. So for a visitor on the internet, they use keywords to find things. For the internet money-maker keywords are the tool that get that visitor finding them, and whatever they are selling.

For instance, let’s say John is searching on the internet for a book on fishing. He will probably type in to a search box one of the following keywords: fish book, book on fishing, fishing book, book about fishing, fishing books, best fishing book, cheap fishing book, free fishing book (and so on).

Now, let’s say your business is selling books on fishing (there’s a lucky coincidence!). And let’s say you are running a google adwords campaign to advertise your fishing books. Or maybe you have a website that sells them. If you have the same keyword in your advert or on your website that John types in to a search box, he may well find you, depending on a few other factors which I will cover later. Because the search engines match up the keyword that’s put into a search with the keywords on sites and ads.

However, if John types in ‘book on fishing’ and your ad or website only have the keyword ‘fish book’ then your site or ad will not show up in the results – or at least not high enough for someone to find you easily. Many people create websites and spend lots of money on getting them beautifully designed, but the only way they will ever get visitors is if they actually give people their website address. They don’t realise that they could get thousands of free visitors a DAY if they took the time to understand keywords. They could have the best looking site on the web, but no-one will find them if they aren’t using keywords correctly. I will just say at this point, if you are a website owner or if you want to be, please check out my build a website section as the system I used to build this site, and which I tell you about there, gives you massive help with keywords with some superb software that comes with the program.

How to get the right keywords

You can buy keyword software to enable you to find the right keywords for your business and you can also use free tools such as Wordtracker and Good Keywords V2 (this is being updated and not working at the time of writing this.

Something I have learned is that you don’t always want to go for the most popular keywords as there may be too much competition. Depending on what you are doing to make money online, it can be much more profitable to use keywords that appear in the final 20 on the top100 list, rather than in the first 20. This is especially important if the subject you are involved in is very competitive. For example, I have a website about names. If I had used the keyword ‘names’ as the main theme of my site I would have been competing with too many others and it would have been hard for me to rank high in the search engines. I went with the main keyword ‘name analysis’ which is far less competitive and I’m on page 1 of Google – twice! Get more in depth keywords information here, just Click here.

Here's another example of how using the RIGHT keywords will make a HUGE difference to your success and income:

Let's look at 2 different people, Dave and Sue. They each have a website or blog about kids games. Sue decides she likes the name 'kiddies games' as it sound cute so bases her main web page around that keyword.

Dave on the other hand uses a keyword tool to analyze what the most popular phrases are that people search for in relation to kids games. He discovers that 'play kid games' is very popular so bases his main page on that.

That single decision means that regardless of whether the games on his site are better or worse than Sue's, and even if he had a horrible looking site: He will get FAR more visitors than Sue because his site will show up when people are looking for kids games and hers won't.

Now, that is a very simplified version of what happens but you get the point. And that leads nicely to this: Keyword software that I use, it's really excellent.

If there's only one tool you ever invest in to help your online success, make it this software. I wish I had got it when I first started.

How often should your keyword appear on your web page or article or blog?

The software I mentioned earlier that comes with the build a website package works all this out for you exactly, but as a rough guide it’s thought that your keyword should account for 2-8% of the words on the page, and you should have a minimum of 250 words. Just having your keyword appear once will not achieve anything. On a website you also need to have your keyword in your title and description (make sure it appears exactly the same in each eg fishing book, in each place, not fishing book and fishing books or fish book etc).

If you master keywords you can drive tons of visitors to your business or product and make a fortune online relatively quickly. If you fail to get to grips with keywords your online business will never bring you the rewards you want. So, my best advice is to thoroughly research this area, become an expert, and the money will follow!
