Here's the first tip:

If you want to make money online, find your NICHE. For instance if you are selling on eBay, pick a subject that's not too broad. eg Don't just sell clothes, sell a particular type of clothing such as belts & buckles or waistcoats or ties or denim. If your subject is too broad (and this is true for any money-making area online) you will struggle against massive competition. Specialize.

And do your homework first. Who else is selling the same kind of thing? How do their prices compare? What can you do differently and better? Is there enough demand for the items you want to sell? Have a look at the Powersellers on eBay. These people make a lot of money so are the ones to study in as much detail as possible.
