MLM Success.
Tips for MLM success.
If you are already involved in MLM or if you are brand new to it, here are some tips to help you build a great MLM business, based on my own (14 years) experience in the industry.
Take the long term view. In other words have the attitude that you will stick at the business for as long as it takes for you to experience MLM success. That may take 6 months or 6 years. Whichever it is stick at it till then. It’s no good with MLM to say ‘I’ll give it 3 months and if it isn’t working I will do something else’. I know many people who started an MLM business and then quit because they wanted quicker results. They went off and got jobs and are now stuck in the 9-5 till they retire. I have a pension-style income at age 43 because I stuck at it for the long term. I spend about half a day a week on my business these days, yet earn a generous 'full-time' income.
MLM is the opposite of a traditional business. You need to put in more time and effort for less reward in the beginning of your MLM career. This is because you are laying the foundations of your business. Liken it to laying the foundations for a house. The foundations take the longest time, but once they are in place the house (and your business) can shoot upwards.
Once you have helped others create independent businesses within your team you will be in a position to earn a great income for far less effort and time than at the start of your business.
Recruit within your warm market. In other words tell people you know about your opportunity. 90% of the Managers in my team came from the warm market. You may successfully recruit lots of people via adverts and so on. But how long will they stay in the business? The point is, for real MLM success you need people in your business who will stay in long term. Otherwise you are always running around looking for new people. In the warm market there is, in my experience, far greater loyalty than when you recruit strangers. It's also free! Do both by all means but don’t focus solely on the cold market.
Learn how to look after your customers. This is another important point for MLM success. Build good relationships with your customers. You will keep them for life if you do so. It is far easier to look after an existing customer than to keep finding new ones. I have many customers who still order month after month who have been with me since the start of my business. Their orders have increased over the years from one product a month to 10-15. I send them all a monthly newsletter, keep them informed about products they haven’t yet tried and so on. I call them once a month for a chat. I know all about them, their families and their lives. Make sure you listen to your customers. Don’t be the one doing all the talking. People will feel highly valued if you take the time to listen to them. One customer can be worth a lot of income to you over the course of many years. Don’t take your customers for granted.
Develop an attitude of wanting to help others (with the business opportunity as well as the products). If you have a ‘take’ attitude you won’t attract long term success. If you just want to recruit others so that you can earn a lot of money, good luck! You will need it! MLM success comes more readily to people who help others to succeed.
Work on yourself. Self development is a crucial part of your career and can make the difference between MLM success or mediocrity. Work on practical areas like presenting skills, listening skills, people skills and so on. Also work on things like your attitude and positive thinking. Open your mind to the Law of Attraction. It all helps more than you can imagine. I have noticed that the people who work on themselves the most are generally the most successful in my company.
