This review is based on my own experience of using the ebook (I am an ebayer).
Share This is not for beginners If you want a book that tells you how to register on ebay and simply list items for sale, this ebook is not the one for you at this stage. Unlike most books about making money on ebay, 'The silent sales machine' doesn’t focus on how to get started and how to do the basics – it skips all that because, as the author says in the book, you can learn all that stuff for free in a few hours on ebay itself. This book shows you everything you need to know AFTER you have learned the basics.
What's unique about this book
He (the author of the silent sales machine, Jim) reveals how to use ebay as a way to make a lot of money without necessarily selling much on ebay itself. And that is why I am recommending this ebook - it’s a totally new way of using ebay to make money. Jim takes advantage of the fact that ebay attracts enormous numbers of visitors and he turns those visitors into buyers of his items that aren’t even listed on ebay! It’s a really clever system and totally legitimate. Imagine listing one item in an ebay auction and let’s say it costs you under $2 in ebay fees to list it. And let’s say it attracts hundreds of viewers. He shows you how to turn everyone who simply views your item into a potential buyer of another similar item you are selling outside of ebay. So, for less than $2 you can generate great sales!
He shares loads of ideas about how to use ebay in this way, in fact the first half of the book is dedicated to just that. ('The silent sales machine' is well over 100 pages).
It really opens your mind up to all the money making possibilities ebay can give you. Most people simply sell on ebay day after day never realizing that they are sitting on a goldmine if they use Jim’s techniques. They limit themselves to ebay itself without seeing the much bigger picture.
What To Sell On Ebay
The second section of 'the silent sales machine' is all about what to sell on ebay and where to find it, which is obviously the big question that most people want answers to. Among other ways, he shows you how to make money on ebay selling other people’s stuff and how to create stuff ‘out of thin air’ to sell. There are loads and loads of creative and unusual ways to find things to sell on ebay, many of which I hadn’t come across before (and some I had). He briefly mentions dropshipping (with this you never need to buy stock or post items you have sold, you simply make the sales and the dropshipper does the rest) but I was disappointed that he doesn’t say much about this other than to lead you to a site where you have to pay to get more info.
Insider Tips
The third section of 'The silent sales machine' is full of insider tips and tricks - and it would be well worth getting the book for this section alone. There’s an article with superb advice about how to word your auction listings for the very best results – this is really vital information as anyone who has tried to sell on ebay will know. There’s information about the best time of day or night for your auctions, depending on what you are selling – again, vital information. You would never be able to work these things out fast enough using your own efforts because it is all based on research and experience. I listed items for months on end when I was new to ebay, and couldn’t understand why my items didn’t sell. Don’t waste your time and money like I did. Follow the shortcuts in this book and you will make money MUCH sooner and more easily.
There are some seriously crafty (but legal) tips in this section too which will boost your bids and sales plus articles from other experts about other ways to make the best of your ebay business.
A final note: There are quite a few links to other resources throughout the book, and most of these you would have to pay for if you want them. (It’s all relevant, useful stuff mind you.) Don’t let it put you off the book, as you only buy extra resources if you want to - you can choose to just use the information you get in the book – there are masses of great, invaluable tips that I haven’t come across anywhere else.
As I said at the start of this review, 'the silent sales machine' is not for the total newcomer who just wants the very basics - it’s more advanced than that. It’s about how to make money on eBay, and how to use eBay to make money in other ways, not how to simply register and get started.
The information in section 3 alone will save you loads of money because it will stop you wasting money on fees for auctions that don’t work. I think its essential reading for anyone who is serious about making a good income via eBay.
